My Story
Hi and welcome to my blog!
This blog is a passion project for me and a space to share aspects of my life and my current journey.
In 2013, I created my first blog – Hello Tomorrow. At the time, I wanted to create my own little space on the internet where I could encourage myself and others to see past the trials of today – hence the name Hello Tomorrow. I focused mostly on building faith and overcoming negative thoughts as these were areas in my life I wanted to improve.
While both topics are still important, my scope has grown as my life has changed and as I have evolved as a woman.
I am now a wife and mother, and those two roles have developed and stretched me in both expected and unexpected ways.
Living Her Vision was created to reflect my current season and path in life. It is birthed out of my belief that we cannot just let life happen to us. We must create a vision for our life and go after it. This belief is grounded in two of my favorite scriptures: 1) “Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” And “Where there is no vision the people perish.” Though the scriptures refer to a different vision, they have always stood with me and can be applied to general life.
They are what has motivated me to not only create a vision for my life, but to write it down, see it, and pursue it.
About Me
When I’m not writing, I am mom-ing and wife-ing. My husband and I have a one-year-old son who keeps us very busy.
I also work full-time as a special education teacher. I’m a nerd. I love learning and planning. So it should be no surprise that I’m an educator by profession with over a decade of teaching experience. Most recently, I completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a dissertation focusing on teacher turnover and retention. (A vision I had for myself that finally came to fruition).
I love Jesus.
I like to travel and experience new things. I hope to one day see the seven wonders of the world.
I also like long walks down the home decor aisles of Home Goods and Home Sense.
I am a proud Jamaican who comes from a big Jamaican family with many aunties, uncles, and cousins. Though I was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, I have been living in the states since I was young.
I hope to connect with other women who also enjoy discussing various topics ranging from motherhood, marriage, home décor, to faith and finances.
